DO YOU NEED HEALING?

God is very much in the healing business. In the Old Testament God described Himself as Jehovah Rapha, which means "the Lord your healer", and the book of Isaiah, speaking prophetically of the Messiah (Jesus) said, "He has borne our sicknesses and carried our diseases."

In the Gospels, a very large proportion of the miracles performed by Jesus were in relation to healing. He healed the blind and the deaf, the crippled and the insane, and every conceivable disease, and He also healed those who were not suffering from a physical sickness but from a broken heart.

In the book of Acts the early church continued to minister healing to all those who had need of it. Jesus gave the promise before He ascended back to heaven, "These signs shall follow those who believe... they shall lay hands on the sick and they will recover."

We believe that the same Spirit of God who worked through Jesus and the ministers and people of the early church is still active today, and that God still wants to heal people in body and soul, as well as in their spirits. After all, it is simply reasonable to believe that the God who created our bodies and minds in the first place is well able to fix them!

Sometimes healing happens instantly, sometimes it is a process over a period of time. The "how" is up to God. All we need to do is to reach out to Him in faith. In His earthly lifetime, Jesus did not heal every sick person in town, but He did heal every person who came to Him in faith.
