| MISSIONS SUPPORT GROUPSDo you have a heart for missions but feel there is nothing you can do?Maybe you feel you will never be able to go to the mission field, even on a short-term missions trip. Maybe you have a heart for missions and would love to be able to support missions activities, but you simply don't have any money. These things don't have to stop you from missions involvement! You could still play a vital part in the missions activity of GTKMI! As a missions ministry, the three things we need most are prayer, promotion and financial support. We are looking for people within Australia who have a heart for missions and would be willing to gather others with a heart for missions and form GTKMI Missions Support Groups. These groups will have three purposes: 1. To pray for GTKMI, and especially our missions work. We will send you information about the needs of our affiliated ministers, and also about our own missions activities. You could meet weekly, fortnightly or monthly to pray for these needs, and in between meetings each member could undertake to personally uphold us in prayer. 2. To publicise GTKMI through your local contacts. We will send you information about such things as our Child Sponsorship Scheme and our Indigenous Ministers Support Scheme, as well as any specific appeals we may currently be holding, and any upcoming missions trips. You can pass these on to churches and ministers in your local area, or other contacts that you may have. 3. To raise funds for our missions work. You might like to have a craft group, then hold a market stall every so often to sell your craft. You might hold a trivia night or a fashion parade, or a children's art show. If you have a group of young people involved, they might like to hold a carwash or a garden cleanup. There are plenty of ways to raise money, and have a lot of fun at the same time. You can also take orders for CDs and publications from GTKMI. You don't need a great number of people, you could begin with just 3 or 4. Nor do you need a great amount of structure or administration.
