Healing
GLORY TO THE KING CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY BOOLARRA
DO YOU NEED HEALING?
God is very much in the healing business. In the Old Testament God described Himself as “the Lord your healer”, and the book of Isaiah, speaking prophetically of the Messiah (Jesus) said, “He has borne our sicknesses and carried our diseases.”
In the Gospels, a very large proportion of the miracles performed by Jesus were in relation to healing, and in the book of Acts the early church continued to minister healing to all those who had need of it. Jesus gave the promise before He ascended back to heaven, “These signs shall follow those who believe… they shall lay hands on the sick and they will recover.”
We believe that the same Spirit of God who worked through Jesus and the ministers and people of the early church is still active today, and that God still wants to heal people in body and soul, as well as in their spirits. After all, it is simply reasonable to believe that the God who created our bodies and minds in the first place is well able to fix them!
Sometimes healing happens instantly, sometimes it is a process over a period of time. The “how” is up to God. All we need to do is to reach out to Him in faith. In His earthly lifetime, Jesus did not heal every sick person in town, but He did heal every person who came to Him in faith.
It is important to understand that not all healing comes from God. There are many people today who claim to “heal”, but their source is not God but the realm of the occult – in other words, the healing is backed by demonic power. Some people question whether the devil can or would heal. The answer to that is simple. Much sickness is caused, either directly or indirectly, by demonic activitiy, so of course the devil has the ability to undo what he did in the first place. Would he? Yes, if it gives him an opportunity to exercise demonic influence over someone’s life, and maybe to even infest them with demons!
Dealing with “healing” practitioners who gain their power from any source other than God is dangerous. You could end up with far greater problems in your life than the disease from which you were “healed.” If you are in need of healing, please be sure to go to a Christian who will pray for you in the Name and by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Glory to the King Christian Community has set aside the first Sunday service each month as a healing service. If you need healing for your body, your mind or your emotions, we would love for you to join us at that time, and we will pray with you and believe God to work in your life. (Of course, this does not mean that you cannot ask for us to pray for you at any time. We will be happy to do so. However, the first Sunday service each month is particularly focused on healing.)
If you are not in our area and would like us to pray for you for healing, please contact us with your request, and we will bring it before God.
Our God is a big God, and He wants to do big things in your life.
